Fort Mill, SC, 2025 — Kitchen
A wall came down and the room found its centre
Removing one load-bearing wall turned a galley kitchen and a dead formal dining room into a single space the family actually uses.

Before
After
The house had a galley kitchen closed off from a dining room nobody had eaten in for years. The wall between them carried roof load, so it could not simply come out.
We ran a flush structural beam inside the ceiling so there is no drop between the two halves, relocated the range wall to pick up the existing gas and vent runs, and put the island where the old partition stood.
